Success is Your Finish Line
Welcoming Community
The "Sofa to Screenland 5K" training program is a welcoming community where safety and support is everyone's finish line. Accomplished running coaches David Winslow, Craig Schoenbaum, and Hamid Rostamian lead free training sessions at the Culver Palms YMCA and Culver City High School Olympic track, helping you complete your 3.1-mile adventure through cinematic wonder on March 1 in good health. "As a flat, fun, and family-oriented hometown event around the studios, the Screenland 5K is an easy entry to an active lifestyle," said Winslow. Training sessions are sponsored by Midwest Roofing.
Let's Run Together
Lace up, show up, and begin your journey into vintage, velvet and valor with complimentary Screenland 5K workouts. Wear comfortable clothes and running shoes, advises trainer David Winslow. Training sessions will encompass goal setting, stretching, warm-ups, jogging, and cool-downs, said Winslow, a legacy Screenland 5K runner and multiple age group marathon winner. Personal trainer Craig Schoenbaum said the workouts are designed to improve strength, flexibility, and stamina.
Follow Winslow's tips in the Screenland 5K TRAINING GUIDE.
