Legends Lead the Way
Performing artists and classic cars will set the stage, creating a red‑carpet tribute to a century of Culver City cinematic champions. As you make your way along the course, you’ll follow in the footsteps of legendary movie and TV stars, passing real locations where scenes from Oscar‑nominated films were shot—each highlighted on the Points of Lore map.
“Prepare to enjoy a morning of culture, live music, performances, and movement, assured to peak to all ages! There will be something for everyone at the Ivy Station and along the 5K route. Come out early and enjoy the sense of community Screenland 5K inspires. Whether you are a serious adult runner, a casual walker (like myself), a first-time munchkin, or a curious neighbor wanting to support your friends, we know you will have a great time!” said Lori Escalera, Screenland 5K’s Creative Director.

Suit up as your favorite screen character and strut your stuff in the “Love and Romance” Costume Contest at the Health and Fitness Expo on Race Day, Feb. 28, starting at 8:00 a.m., with finals at 8:20 a.m. True love not guaranteed, but dramatic entrances encouraged.

Rolling out Roadster Romance
This year’s course rolls out classic roadsters and cast members portraying stars from award‑winning films and TV shows—many reflecting our “Love and Romance” theme. Discover a century of Culver City motion picture winners filmed along the course in the Points of Movie Lore .
Pace Setter
An antique Culver City police car—just like the ones that stole scenes in classic slapstick comedies—will pace the Screenland 5K. Will this sputtering and rattling 1930s‑era Model A crime fighter go the distance? Or will it pull one of its classic Keystone‑Cops stunts and conk out in dramatic fashion? “It’s a gamble,” said retired Culver City Building Maintenance Supervisor Steve Newton, the proud owner, who knows his car has a flair for comedic timing.
Take an Early Roll
Kids can bike the course with Walk ’n Rollers pros and the CCPD before the big race! Meet at the Screenland 5K starting line at Ivy Station at 7:15 a.m. on race day. Riders must wear helmets and stay on the designated route with course leaders. Enjoy the Health and Fitness Expo right after.
Munchkin Dash
Movie stars up to age 17 can embark on an enchanted journey to the Emerald City in the Munchkin Dash, cheered on by their favorite screen characters. Organized by age in distances up to a mile, the young sprinters will receive a shirt and finishers' medal. View Munchkin Dashers in action!
