Glitzy Artists

Get ready to foil the Wicked Witch of the West as you follow the yellow brick road to glitz, glamour, glory, & gold in the Heart of Screenland.  Run past famous studio soundstages and retrace the steps of Culver City's greatest stars.  Stride onto the red carpet after your Oscar-winning finish and flash your finisher's medal at the paparazzi.

Visual and performing artists will entertain Screenland 5K guests with music, artwork, and acts that pay homage to a century of cinematic glitz, glamour, glory & gold, as seen in the motion picture map.  "Prepare to be inspired and enriched in this morning of health and fitness--a kaleidoscope of color, sound, sights, learning, friendship, and pleasure," said Lori Escalera, Screenland 5K's Creative Director.

Dress to Win

Race dressed as your favorite screen personality to win prizes and a big-time movie contract in the Glitz, Glamour, Glory & Gold Costume Contest on Race Day, March 2, 8:30 a.m. Your outfit can revel in the glitz of the Roaring Twenties silent films, bask in the glamour of MGM's golden age in the '30s and '40s, express glorious battles or Westerns, or display the golden age of post-war television...or whatever you like! Golden Performances

Your 3.1-mile adventure retraces the steps of golden stars and directors in the Heart of Screenland.  Main stage antics parody the golden age of TV. Enjoy the slides.

Meet Me at the Expo

Get your race packet, enjoy attractions, and make new friends in the Screenland 5K Health and Fitness Expo at Ivy Station. Early Sunday arrival is recommended, as free parking at Ivy Station will be limited. Consider Metro, bus, or bike.

Fight or Flight?

Can Culver City firefighters pedal the department's unwieldy five-seat bicycle down the yellow brick road to raise funds for glory and gold on Oscar Sunday? "We never know what it will do," said Culver City Fire Dept. Battalion Chief Ron Kohlhepp with a smile. Grand Marshal Defends

Vice Mayor Dan O'Brien, the 2025 Screenland 5K Grand Marshal, will defend his first-ever divisional title. His feat was even more noteworthy because he had to remove his stage costume and jump into the 2024 race from the back.

Pace Setter

An antique Culver City police car will lead the way in the Screenland 5K, earning funds for the local police officers association for each block it goes.  "It's a gamble," said retired Culver City Building Maintenance Supervisor Steve Newton, who rebuilt the 1930s-era Model A crime fighter 15 years ago.

Munchkin Dash

Aspiring movie stars up to age 17 will embark on an enchanting journey to the Emerald City. Munchkin Dash registrants, organized by age in distances up to a mile, will receive a shirt and finishers' medal. "The King of Culver City" and Yo-Yo club spinners will cheer on the young runners.  MORE...

Play Streets

Celebrate 100 years of glitz, glamour, glory & gold on Play Streets!  Enjoy the car-free environment, 7:00-8:20 a.m. The activity supports Culver City's efforts to “activate” public spaces for all.  

Crash 'n Roll

Crash the Screenland 5K course on bikes on vehicle-free streets with Walk 'n Roller instructors. Meet at the Screenland 5K starting line at Ivy Station at 7:15 a.m. on race day. Riders must be 11 and under, wear helmets, and stay on the route with course leaders.  Participate in more cycling activities at Ivy Station on Sat. Mar. 1, 1:00-5:00 pm. with contests, info booths, prizes and DJ.  Watch local dignitaries battle in the Celebrity Charity Cycle Chase, Mar. 1, 3:30 pm at Ivy Station.

Rollin' Booths, Bike Activities on Packet Pickup Saturday

Bring your wheels to Screenland 5K Packet Pickup on Saturday, March 1, at Ivy Station and celebrate the 13th birthday of Walk 'n Rollers.  A DJ will spin your favorite "runnin' and rollin'" tunes while you and your family participate in skateboard and e-bike demos, bike rodeo, fix-it workshops, crafts, free helmets and raffles. Watch the exhilarating Celebrity Cycle Chase at 3:30 p.m.  Walk 'n Roller cycling activities are 1:00-5:00 pm.  Screenland 5K packet pickup is 3:00-6:00 pm.

Wacky Wheels

Cheer on local dignitaries as they follow the yellow brick road in the Celebrity Charity Cycle Chase to raise funds for their favorite nonprofits in this hilarious spectacle for glory & gold on Saturday, March 1, 3:30 pm at Ivy Station.  Culver City Rotary Foundation President Keith Jones won the competition, last year.  Admission is free.
