Virtual 5K FAQ
Why a Virtual 5K?
In light of the continuing coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and public gathering limits, the 5K will be a virtual event in 2020 to protect the health of the participants and volunteers. If things change, we will move to a hybrid event, with an in-person option.
What is the Virtual 5K?
The virtual 5K can be completed at your convenience and is a way to participate in the race from anywhere. You can run or walk in your neighborhood, a running trail, on a treadmill, etc.
How far is a 5K?
3.1 Miles
Who can participate?
Anyone! Young or old, fast or slow – we encourage participants of all ability levels. Encourage your friends and family to register with you!
When do I need to complete the Virtual 5K?
You can run or walk the 5K anytime between Saturday, April 24, 2021 and 9:00 a.m. CT on Saturday, May 1, 2021.
How do I track my results?
There are several apps available, just type in Running in your app store. Two popular apps are Map My Run and Strava.
Do I need to submit my results?
If you’d like your time to be included on the results page on the event site and considered for an award, please send us a screenshot of your results to info@pictoday.org. Please be sure to include your full name in the email.
Will awards still l be given?
Yes! If your time qualifies for 1st or 2nd place overall or in your age group, we’ll mail your medal (1st place) or ribbon (2nd place) with your race tee and bib (see below).
How do I get my race shirt and bib?
Race bags, including race shirts and bibs will be available for in-person pick-up on Friday, May 30th. Bibs will not be necessary for the actual run.
