Course Setup

The course team meets at 4:00 am at the water stop near the roundabout on Lake Hollingsworth Dr.

1.   Set one cone in the first parking spot at the Country Club to mark where the Barrier Crew gets to park.
2.   Meet box truck to unload water stop supplies (keep 1 scoop shovel to clear sand from path where it runs off the hills & dead animals from start area)

Drive around lake clockwise 
1.    Drop Mile 1 Marker  @ ~ Hibriten Way (see location in photos below)
2.    Drop 30 cones in 10 sets of 3 + 2 red flags + 1 ROAD NOT CLOSED sign on the sidewalk between Belmar to Success (drop 7 sets along the yellow line on the Belmar end, and 3 sets on the sidewalk on the Success end - this reduces the amount of carrying the volunteer team has to do to set the cones once the roads are closed)
3.    Drop 1st ROAD NOT CLOSED sign at Melton on top of manhole cover by #14 Lake Hollingsworth Dr
4.    Drop 5 cones side-by-side + a race directional signs at tree at Mississippi (to make them go around tree)
5.    Drop one cone & red flag on the other side of the tree at Mississippi for the volunteer
6.    Drop You're Halfway There sign for the split timer (see location in photos below)
7.    Drop 2nd Road Not Closed sign about 50' prior to the bike lane separation at Ingraham
8.    Drop one cone & red flag on the west end of the bike lane separation pad at the Ingraham intersection 
9.    Drop 3rd Road Not Closed sign at the crosswalk after the roundabout
10.  Drop Mile 2 Marker one cone & red flag for volunteer just past Clearview. (see location in photos below)
11.  Drop Mile 3 Marker ~ Water Fountain at parking lot (see location in photos below)

Drive around lake counter clockwise
1.  Drop & set cones approx 5 strides apart from end of barricades (~ Derbyshire) to Brandon, drop one set of cones & extender at Derbyshire
2.  Drop 3 cones + green START signs along lake path (water fountain, after portalets, exiting “woods”)
3.  Drop 15 Cones + race directional signs at light pole at Brandon to build chute to direct runners from path to street
5.  Use cones to reserve space for Penske truck on Jonila
6.  Drop all START equipment - American flag, corral flags, PA system, start line tool bag, 3 cone extenders & 4 cones, 4 cones to block space on Jonila, Caution Race sign + cone to close bike lane at Nevada
7.  Drop 2 cones and cone extender along 11 hill streets from Palmola to Conventry (skip Beacon). At Coventry, also drop a set of cones and cone extender at the Country Club parking lot entrance/exit. 

PARK on JONILA 
1. Set up transition chute in the grass from path back onto Lake Hollingsworth Dr across from Brandon Dr (see photo below)
2. Check path for sand, and road for dead animals - clear anything that is hazard to runners.
 
6:30 AM 
1. Run stringer to create funnel with cones from Brandon to end of property with fence/Crape Myrtles.  
2. Add safety flagging tape to funnel 

7:10 AM 
1. Reset cones in funnel at Brandon to direct runners to finish
2. Pick up trash & teardown Start
3. Pick Up cones, cone extenders, mile markers, all signs along lake path

8: 15 AM
1.  Pick up cones from Brandon to Derbyshire behind final finisher
2.  Throw all trash away in dumpster

KEY COURSE POINTS

START is on Lake Hollingsworth Dr facing southwest.  Point is at LP 1000797 near the intersection with Jonila Ave.
FINISH is on Lake Hollingsworth Dr facing northwest.  Point is 51’ east of LP1000374.
MILE 1 is on Lake Hollingsworth Dr facing north.  Point is aligned with LP1000970 on the west side of Lake Hollingsworth Dr near Hibriten Way.
MILE 2 is on the Lake Hollingsworth running path facing southwest 18’-6” northwest of  LP LE175754 near Clearview Ave.
MILE 3 is on Lake Hollingsworth Dr facing southwest.  Point is 30’  west of LP1000806, near the drinking fountains.
Transition from the path to the road is at LP1000801.
