FAQs - Finish Line

Is the race finishing inside Notre Dame Stadium again?

Yes!  All events will finish on the 50-yard line inside of Notre Dame Stadium.

Do I get a finisher medal?

Yes! All finishers in all events (including the untimed 5K Fitness Walk) will receive a medal. Medals are distributed at the field exits.

Is there a certain pace I need to maintain?

Yes – the course closes to runners and reopens to vehicle traffic according to the slowest allowable pace of a 16-minute mile. Water stops will also close according to that pace. The finish line is the last section of the course to close at 10:05 am. Please understand - the course and all runner support close on a rolling basis. If you fall behind the 16-minute pace, you may proceed on the sidewalks at your own risk (course support will not be available) or you may catch a ride to the finish in the Sunburst SAG van.

What if I can’t finish?

Head to the nearest water stop and inform the R.A.C.E.S volunteer that you’d like to drop out. They will call for the Sunburst SAG van to pick you up.

How will you handle awards?

All placements and award winners should be finalized by 2:00 pm on race day. There will be no awards distributed onsite, but rather winners will be contacted via email within 2 weeks of the race.

I'm on a Corporate Team. Where can I find the Corporate Tent?

The Corporate Tent is located outside of Gate B at Notre Dame Stadium, look for the Sunburst branded signage. For admittance into the tent, you MUST be wearing your bib.

How do I get back to the Start Line/Four Winds Field?

We’ve got your ride back to the Start Line covered. Shuttles are provided from 7:30 am - 10:45 am on race morning. Shuttles are located in front of the Joyce Center. There may be a wait at peak times, so we appreciate your patience.

Please do not park at Notre Dame and simply rely on the shuttles to get you to the start line on time for your scheduled race. That is not the intended purpose of the shuttles and you risk missing your start. This is especially true if you are participating in anything other than the half marathon

What happens after finishing the race?

As you triumphantly make your way down the tunnel to the Finish Line, look up to see yourself on the video board - and smile big! Once you cross the Finish Line, you must keep moving to make room for additional finishers. There is dedicated space on the field (away from the finish line) to celebrate your accomplishment, take pictures and embrace the awesomeness.

Finisher medals are available at the field exits. Water, Gatorade and post-race snacks provided by Meijer are available in the concourse. Please note: once you exit the field, you are unable to return.

How can my family and friends see me finish?

Spectators can enter Gate B as early as 7:00 a.m. All spectators must go through Notre Dame’s security check and adhere to the University’s clear bag policy. Spectators are not allowed on the field; only registered participants wearing a bib, registered volunteers and staff are permitted on the field.

Spectators driving to campus must arrive via Twyckenham Drive & Angela Boulevard. No campus access is available from Eddy Street due to road closures. For those traveling from the start line, please go to campus via Douglas Road, then go south on Twyckenham, west on Angela, then north on Leahy into the parking lots.
