Team ROAR & DMK Ribbon
Team ROAR
Donna’s family and friends created Team ROAR in her honor after she was first diagnosed in 2013. We ran and walked to support her and to raise money for breast cancer awareness and early detection. The team is named after one of Donna’s fight songs, “Roar” by Katy Perry.
We still are her team and we will continue to fight in her memory. We also fight for others living with this disease.
DMK RIBBON
The pink ribbon is synonymous with breast cancer awareness. We added yellow because MBC is different than a regular breast cancer diagnosis.
Many patients will recover from an early stage breast cancer diagnosis. MBC is incurable, but we hope to change that.
Yellow also was one of Donna’s favorite colors, which is fitting because she was a ray of sunshine. She served as an example of how we should live each day, by encouraging hope to so many and by being grateful for all of our blessings.
