V-TEX: The Virtual Texas Endurance Runs
**INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the Texas Endurance Runs Virtual event. We so glad that you want to help us to support Pediatric Cancer patients and their families, even if you can’t be here in person!
Our aim is to make this pretty easy for you so you can concentrate on running. We'll send out this information in an email at the beginning of the running period. We'll also re-send it after the In-Person event, because we usually have a few people transfer into the Virtual at the last minute. If you have any questions, please reach out!
We’re always super-impressed by our Virtual runners, because it takes a LOT of self-motivation to do an event like this on your own!
Good luck and have fun!
John & Kay, WRATH Racing

** SCHEDULE
Virtual Run Period Start: 07/11/2025 12:01 AM
Virtual Run Period End: 08/10/2025 11:59 PM
Report your time and mileage by: 08/12/2025 11:59 PM
-
How long do I have for my event?
- Your race does not need to be completed in a single run, but should be completed within a 48-hour period.
- The clock starts when you start, so if you start at 3:04P on Monday, your Virtual will be complete at 3:03:59P on Wednesday
- All runs within that 48-hour period will count towards your total. -
Minimum mileage to be considered a "Finisher" is 1.25 miles, equivalent to 1 lap of the in-person course.
-
We want to share your experience! Post your photos in the Facebook group or on IG. Please use #HowIHammer
** REPORTING YOUR TIME
-
From 07/11 to 08/12, the Results page on RunSignup will have a button where you can log in and report your total distance and time.
- Click on the "Submit Virtual Results" button at the top of the screen
- If you are logged in, the system will take you straight to the entry screen. If you aren't logged in, enter your information, and follow the prompts until you get to the entry screen
- You may enter your total time and total mileage OR you may choose to just indicate that you completed your event. (It's honor system to report your mileage, because we can’t configure RunSignup for this type of virtual)
- If you are on a desktop, this screen will also have the option to "Load Activities From File". Drag the gpx file to the blue square on the left
- Choose Submit -
If you miss the reporting window, email the race directors for help
**AWARDS
If we have more than 5 runners registered for the Virtual Texas Endurance Run, we will give out a 1st-place award.
-
To be eligible for an award, you must submit your mileage and time on RunSignup AND email us us your proof of your mileage and time for verification.
- We cannot download your GPX files from RunSignup. -
How do we determine the winner?
- The award goes to the person with the highest verified mileage in 48 gours, which may be different than the person with the highest reported mileage.
- For example, if there are 5 runners registered, and only one submits verifiable proof, that runner is the winner.
- This has happened at our other virtual races, so it’s always worth it to send us your proof! -
Your proof must contain:
- Start Time and Date
- End Time and Date
- Total Mileage -
What type of proof is best?
- The best is a link to your Garmin/ Strava/ RunKeeper etc
- If you 'double-dip' with an in-person race, you can send us a link to their results
- Other proof is acceptable as long as we can determine your start time/end time and total mileage.
- Photos of your watch may be acceptible if they contain the required data.
- If you do not want an award, you don't need to send us proof.
**SWAG & SHIPPING
-
All runners that are registered for the Virtual get:
- Custom Texas Endurance Run medal
- Goody bag featuring gifts from our sponsors
- Swag item
- Virtual bib
- Distance sticker (If you do not report a distance, you will get a sticker with no mileage.) -
We try to ship all swag within a week after the end of the Virtual event. We can’t ship it earlier because we won’t know which distance sticker to send you until the reporting period is over.
- To save costs (and maximize our donation), we prefer to ship everything together, so if you purchased a shirt, it will be sent with your virtual packet.
- We ship USPS, and can provide tracking numbers if requested.
- Please make sure that your mailing address is correct on your RunSignup profile. -
Runners are responsible to pay Shipping & Handling for reshipping virtual packets, store items, and/or awards that have been returned as Undeliverable. So please ensure we have a ood shipping address for you!
** VIRTUAL FAQs
-
Do I have to track my run with a particular app?
No, but if you intend to submit your proof for the Award, we recommend Garmin or Strava. -
What is 'proof'?
- It's usually a link to your Garmin/Strava/RunKeeper. etc, but it can be something else, as long as we can determine your start time/end time and total mileage.
- For instance, if you are 'double-dipping' the 48-Hour with a 100-miler, you can send us the link to the 100-mile results.
- Multiple photos of your watch may be eligible if they contain the required data (but please help us out by organizing them somehow.)
- Remember, we only need proof of your run if you want to be eligible for an award. -
Do I have to report my mileage & time?
If you are not interested in potentially winning the Virtual, then you do not have to report your mileage and time. Instead, you can simply tell us that you have completed your event. -
Can I still get my swag if I don’t report my time? Can I still get my swag if I don’t even tell you I’ve completed the event?
You do not have to report your results or indicate the race is complete to get your swag. -
Can I run on a treadmill? Can I submit a picture of the treadmill display as Proof?
No, not for TxER. The weather plays a big role in this event, so we want you to run outside, please, even if your weather is a lot cooler than Texas. -
I'm trying to enter my time but it’s not working. Help!
Please email your results to us, and we'll manually enter them for you.
