Sarcoma Stomp Directions/Parking
The Sarcoma Stomp is held at Christ Lutheran Church, located at 4519 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC 28226. The church is located on the southeast corner of the Providence Road/Fairview Road intersection.
Registration and packet pickup opens at 7:00am and closes before the start of the 5K Run at 8:00am. Please allow a minimum of 30 minutes to park and walk into the event site to register (if needed), pick up your shirts/bibs, and to enjoy the vibe before the pre-race ceremony at 7:40am. This will make for a much calmer and happier experience for all participants!
Traveling northbound on Providence Road:
Parking Lot Option #1: Event Site - Christ Lutheran Church (4519 Providence Road) - VERY LIMITED PARKING - CMPD and Parking Attendants will direct you to turn right onto Mammoth Oaks Drive or Shelton Street depending on time of arrival. We appreciate your following the parking attendants' directions to park in your designated area for your safety and the safety of others. Vehicles with handicapped or other special placards will turn onto Shelton Street at all times.
Parking Lot Option #2: Red Rocks Cafe & Bakery (4223 Providence Road) - Continue northbound on Providence Road, cross through the Fairview Road/Sardis Road intersection, and make the first right onto Old Sardis Road by the Exxon gas station into the Strawberry Hill Shopping Center. Parking attendants will direct you to continue driving straight on Old Sardis Road until it ends at a large parking lot by Red Rocks Cafe & Bakery. After parking, walk towards Providence Road. CMPD will be stationed at that intersection to help you cross the street. Then walk one block south to the event site at Christ Lutheran Church. ALLOW AT LEAST 20 MINUTES TO PARK AND WALK TO CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH.
Traveling Southbound on Providence Road:
Parking Lot Option #1: Red Rocks Cafe & Bakery (4223 Providence Road)- Turn left onto Old Sardis Road by the Exxon gas station. Parking attendants will direct you to continue driving straight on Old Sardis Road until it ends at a large parking lot by Red Rocks Cafe & Bakery. After parking, walk towards Providence Road. CMPD will be stationed at that intersection to help you cross the street. Then walk one block south to the event site at Christ Lutheran Church. ALLOW 20 MINUTES TO PARK AND WALK TO CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH.
Parking Lot Option #2: Providence Road Church of Christ (4900 Providence Road) - Located on the southbound side of Providence Road. CMPD will be stationed there to cross participants to the northbound side of Providence Road. Walk 2 blocks north to Christ Lutheran Church. ALLOW AT LEAST 20 MINUTES TO PARK AND WALK TO CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH.
Traveling Westbound on Sardis Road:
Red Rocks Cafe & Bakery (4223 Providence Road)- Turn right into Strawberry Hill Shopping Center entrance at Kingsgate Place. Parking attendants will direct you to Red Rocks lot. After parking, walk towards Providence Road. CMPD will be stationed at that intersection to help you cross the street. Then walk one block south to the event site at Christ Lutheran Church. ALLOW 20 MINUTES TO PARK AND WALK TO CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH. (Note: You cannot turn left into the Strawberry Hill Shopping Center at Kingsgate Place when traveling eastbound on Sardis Road.)
Handicap and VIP Parking ONLY:
These spaces are available ONLY for those with a handicap placard or VIP Parking Pass.
Traveling northbound on Providence Road, turn right onto Shelton Street and an attendant will direct you to our Handicap/ VIP parking spaces at the event site.
Traveling southbound on Providence Road, make a u-turn at Creola Road. Please use extreme caution and be alert to very heavy northbound traffic. Turn right onto Shelton Street and an attendant will direct you to our handicap/VIP parking spaces.
