RULES AND SAFETY
It’s All Fun and Games Until Someone Breaks the Rules – Don’t Let That Be You!
Be cool, follow the rules, and let’s keep it fun for everyone:
No Unofficial Runners:
The one exception is that a pacer is allowed only on the 4th loop for the 100K.
Headlamps or Reflective Gear Required After 7:00 PM:
All participants on the course after 7:00 PM must wear a headlamp or a reflective system.
Wear Your Bib at All Times:
Your race bib is how we identify you.
Important: Write any relevant medical information on the back of your bib in case medical personnel need it and you're unable to provide that info.
Stay on the Marked Trails:
Runners must follow the designated trails. No shortcuts — that’s considered cheating, and nobody likes a cheater.
No Littering:
Keep the trails clean. Respect the environment and dispose of waste properly.
Be Courteous:
Please be respectful to volunteers, fellow racers, and others enjoying the area.
DNF Policy:
Runners who do not complete their full registered race distance will be classified as DNF (Did Not Finish).
If You Need to Drop Out:
If you must drop out of the race, you are required to inform official trail staff at an Aid Station, the start line, or the finish line. Do not notify marshals or other staff outside these areas, as they are not authorized to record drop-outs.
And Last but Not Least... Have Fun!
Seriously, that’s what it’s all about. Enjoy the adventure!
At the End of the Day, We Just Want You to Have Fun... But Safety Comes First!
Keep these safety guidelines in mind while out on the course:
Pay Attention to Course Markings:
Stick to the marked course flags. Don’t take shortcuts; they could be dangerous or not approved. Plus, shortcuts are cheating, and nobody likes a cheater.
Watch for Bikes:
The trails are also active bike trails. Be vigilant of your surroundings and watch out for bikers who may be moving faster than you.
Injury Assistance:
If you're injured, notify the nearest aid station, or relay the information via other runners if you can’t reach the station. If you come across an injured runner, do what you can to help. Track the time you lose assisting, and we’ll deduct that from your overall time.
Carry a Cell Phone:
We encourage carrying your phone so you can call for help if needed or reach out in case of an emergency.
Bring Course Maps and Cue Cards:
While the course is well marked, you’ll be out there for a while. Having a map or cue card can be reassuring in case you need it.
Respect the Wildlife:
This is a forest with nature and wildlife. Please be respectful. Animals don’t follow our race rules, so just let them go about their business.
All Runners in the 50K/75K/100K/100K Relay:
You will be checked in at the Timber Ridge Aid Station at the start and end of each loop.
Volunteers and Staff Support:
Volunteers will be stationed at the aid stations, and staff will be monitoring the course periodically. If you need to bail out at any point, you can do so at any of the aid stations.
Restrooms and First Aid: Restrooms will be available at key locations along the course:
- Vault Toilets: Bartlett Road and Supply Road Aid Stations
- Portable Restrooms: Supply Rd VASA Singletrack Trailhead, Timber Ridge Start/Finish Area, and Aid Stations
Basic first aid kits will be available at the Bartlett Road and Supply Road Aid Stations, as well as at the finish line. Medical personnel will be on-site as needed throughout the race.
