Course Description: The Tri-Cities Marathon offers runners a scenic course that showcases the beauty of the Columbia River and the communities of Richland, Pasco, and Kennewick. The race begins on Bradley Boulevard in Richland, near the southwest end of the Riverfront Hotel parking lot, and heads south with the Columbia River to the left and Columbia Point Golf Course to the right. The course then turns onto Columbia Point Drive and continues toward Columbia Point Park.
From there, runners cross the Columbia River on the westbound side of the Lee Volpentest Bridges, reaching the highest elevation point on the course. After descending into Pasco, the route follows Court Street east to the Sacagawea Heritage Trail, where participants join the trail to continue along the river on a scenic stretch of paved trail. The course remains on the trail to the Blue Bridge, where runners cross into Kennewick.
Once in Kennewick, the course travels west through Columbia Park for approximately 2.5 miles to a turnaround point before heading back east to the Cable Bridge. Runners then cross the Cable Bridge back into Pasco and rejoin the Sacagawea Heritage Trail once again, following the Columbia River. The final miles retrace the route along Court Street and cross the Lee Volpentest Bridges before returning via Columbia Point Drive and Bradley Boulevard to the finish line at the south end of the Riverfront Hotel parking lot.
This memorable course combines riverfront views, iconic bridge crossings, and a tour through all three Tri-Cities, creating a unique and rewarding marathon experience for runners of all levels.
