COVID-19 Race Guidelines

Safety is paramount for Totally Running, our sponsors, and most importantly, for our racers. We are currently following the CDC guidelines for protection against COVID-19 and will continue to do so at our upcoming races.

Please review these guidelines here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html

Face Coverings and Personal Protective measures:

  • Our staff will wear gloves and protective masks during check-in and registration.
  • Participants are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings before the race if picking up your race packet on race day. Masks are not required while outdoors, this is at your discretion.

Social Distancing: Please be mindful of social distancing, pre-race, race, and post-race.

  • Participants are encouraged to leave 6 feet between each other at all times.
  • We will use wave starts to limit participants at the start line and we will have room to spread out before and during the race.
  • Registration tables will be 6 feet apart.
  • Hand sanitizer available throughout the course and race site.
  • Participants will be lined up in waves according to race pace. Look for the sign with your average minute per mile and start in this wave.
  • Due to restrictions, this race is self-supported. There will be no water stations or nutrition on the course.
  • Individually packed water and snacks will be available at the finish line post-race.

Participant Best Practices:

  • Don’t show up if you are feeling ill or have flu-like symptoms. Free bib transfers are available through your runsignup.com account, just be sure to transfer your bib number to someone you have not had recent physical contact.
  • Don't share fluids. This is a self-supported race; carry your own fluids to avoid contact with others on course.
  • Don't share towels, food, gels, or any other item that runners normally share freely.
  • Do wash your hands or use hand sanitizer after using the port-a-john.
  • Do not spit or “nose rocket” your nose in public – bring along tissues or a small towel or a good old-fashioned hanky if you need to get rid of some snot during the race.
  • Do practice social distancing - ensure appropriate spacing between runners; the current recommendation is at least six feet of separation.
  • Do avoid close-group selfies, we'll have free photography available courtesy of Totally Running and Walking!

We want our participants to feel comfortable racing with us. You may transfer to the live race or virtual. Log in to your runsignup.com profile and the Transfer option will be available for you to click. Transfer options are available until online registration closes on 11/22/20 at 11:59 pm.
