WHEN:

Thanksgiving Day - November 27, 2025
Start Time -  8:00 a.m.*Note that both the 5k and 10K will start at the same time following the “Start Time” process outlined below. Please arrive between 7:15 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. to provide adequate time to park, warm up and get lined up into your wave start position.

START TIME:

The race begins at 8:00 a.m., with 10K runners lining up at the front. Before the race, you'll see signs and colored flags marking different starting areas based on your expected pace (how fast you plan to run or walk), from fastest to slowest. Please find your pace group and be in your designated starting area at least 10 minutes before the race begins.

What is a wave start?

Instead of everyone starting at the exact same moment, participants are released in small groups (or "waves") every few moments based on their pace. 

A wave start helps:

• Reduce crowding at the start line
• Create a safer, more enjoyable experience for everyone
• Give runners and walkers more space on the course
• Allow faster participants to maintain their pace without weaving through slower traffic

Planning to participate with family or friends? Be sure everyone lines up in the same pace group (designated by colored flags) so you can start together.

PARKING:

Parking will fill up early! We recommend parking near Target in Sandy. There is also parking available at REI/Momentum, Sandy One Center, Aetna and Del Sol. No parking will be allowed on the route. See route map for parking details!

PETS:

For your pet's safety and the safety of all event participants, dogs are prohibited per Sandy City ordinances. Dogs are also not permitted in the pre-and post-race areas. Please leave them at home on race day as we will have to ask any people who show up with dogs to either leave them in their car during the race or you will be turned away. No refunds will be offered. Please be sure to share this information with any of your race teammates who may not directly see this information.
