The Sentara Cap2Cap presented by Dominion Energy is back for its 19th year!

Cap2Cap is the annual bike ride fundraiser event for the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation.  Choose from four distances (100, 50, 25, or 7 miles) or register for the 2-Day or Virtual options.

Start and finish whenever and wherever you like along the Virginia Capital Trail.  Enjoy the Party Zones at Chickahominy Riverfront Park on Friday or at Dorey Park on Saturday.  Riders will be supported by five Rest Stops over the 51.7 mile trail and will receive Cap2Cap merchandise, lunch, a beverage ticket, coupons, and more!

On the Capital Trail

The Sentara Cap2Cap presented by Dominion Energy will use an Open-Start format in 2024: you can start and finish anywhere on the Virginia Capital Trail!  Course support (Rest Stops and SAG) will be active between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM on the Trail on Cap2Cap weekend, Friday, May 10th and Saturday, May 11th.

When planning your ride, consider the location and time of the Party Zone, which is the only place you will be able to redeem your lunch and drink ticket.

Party Zones

There are two Party Zones to choose from!  Friday's is at Chickahominy Riverfront Park in Williamsburg and Saturday's is at Dorey Park in Henrico.

On whichever Ride Day you select during registration, and only on that day, the tickets attached to your bib will be good for lunch and a beverage at the corresponding Party Zone site where there'll be music, vendors, and more!  Day-of Packet Pickup will be held earlier in the day in the same location as the Party Zone.

Can't Make It In Person? Do The Virtual Cap2Cap!

During registration, Virtual riders will select a distance goal for their Cap2Cap ride and will be able to ride and submit results between May 1st and May 31st.

While we recommend planning your ride on the Virginia Capital Trail, this is not required.

Virtual participants will receive the official Cap2Cap t-shirt, drawstring bag, and water bottle, shipped in early June,

along with any store purchases made in association with registration.

Virtual participants also receive the discounts and coupons associated with the event.

Refunds

You can log into your RunSignUp account and transfer to another distance until April 17th at 11:59 PM.

Cap2Cap is rain or shine.  We do not allow refunds on this event.
In case of severe weather or a local/state/national emergency, VCTF reserves the right to cancel/alter/modify the ride for safety concerns.

Please note, we do not refund ride fees, transfer registration to another year, or transfer registration to other riders.
