Details

Note: Volunteers under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Do you love spending time in solitude out of doors? Do you enjoy backcountry adventures and helping others have a good experience on the land? Then this is the opportunity for you!

Course monitors are stationed out on the land within the 6:30AM to 3:30PM time-frame. Course monitors will receive a day-of orientation and will be transported onto the course by vehicle or on foot, depending on assignment. Course monitors may be responsible for radio communications from their station, helping our team track runner progress. This is a special opportunity to immerse yourself in natural areas usually closed to the public while helping make these incredible race courses a success!

Qualified volunteers are comfortable spending extended time in backcountry wilderness areas and can easily hike 4+ miles on hilly terrain if asked. First aid/CPR or WFR certification and/or AED training is a plus. Light snacks, water, and coffee will also be offered prior to deployment. Volunteers should bring all other supplies and equipment they may wish to have in the field (e.g., packed lunch, water, hat, hiking shoes, camping/backpacking chair if desired, etc.).

Select course monitors will be deployed as aid station volunteers. Want to be considered for assignment to an aid station? Please note this when you register.
