Details

As a courtesy to the participants, gear check service to all registered athletes is offered. Volunteers will collect gear bags at the race start and help transport them for pickup at the finish line area. Volunteers will organize athletes’ gear bags and distribute the bags to the runners after completion of their race.

Starting area across from the Cog Railroad then moves to finish line area near Barr Trail trailhead.

Finish Line Assistants High Priority

Details

The finish line volunteers will welcome and assist runners, if needed, as they complete their race and cross the finish line. Additional miscellaneous tasks may include forming a running lane with cones, relaying bib numbers to the announcer, cleaning and sweeping the course of debris, etc.

Fruit/Snack Prep and Distribution High Priority

Details

After the strenuous race, runners' need nourishment. Volunteers will cut fruit and distribute, along with snacks if available, to the runners at the completion of their race.

Post Race/Awards Ceremony

Awards Ceremony Assistants High Priority

Details

Awards ceremony assistants will help with the set up Soda Springs Pavilion for the awards ceremony. Assistants will also set out and organize awards, assist the announcer and post runners' results. Last, but not least, take down/clean up of the pavilion is needed. "Leave No Trace" is the goal to accomplish after the awards ceremony.

High School Aid Station Challenge Voting High Priority

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

High school teams will be manning the water/aid stations and cheering with enthusiasm for the runners. After finishing the race, volunteers will encourage the runners to vote for their favorite school team. Volunteers will then count the final votes and relay the name of the winning team to the announcer.

The responsibilities of these volunteers include organizing race shirts and ensuring that every runner that finishes under the cut-off time goes home with their hard earned BTMR t-shirt!
Volunteers will also man the swag table.

Runners' Food Distribution High Priority

Details

Runners appreciate a little celebratory pizza after their race. Volunteers will set up service area and serve slices of pizza to the runners. The area will also need to be taken down/cleaned up after the event.

Details

With a thorough understanding of the race course, these volunteers will direct runners keeping them safe along the the course. Course marshals will also need to stop pedestrian and/or vehicle traffic to allow runners to cross pathways and/or streets. Long periods of standing is required.

Details

The responsibility of these volunteers is to direct runners from parking areas to the race venue as well as re-directing traffic and preventing vehicles from interfering with the race.

The Whole Operations Bundle

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

The operations crew is an integral part of any race. Volunteers for the "whole operations bundle" are interested in and have the time to commit to all or most of the pre-race day and race day tasks. (See "Race Operations" for pre-race, set-up and race day tasks.)

The Operations Lead will contact volunteers with schedule details and offer flexible work shifts.

Pre-Race Prep and Set-up

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Become involved with the backbone of race preparation and set-up. Volunteers will be needed on the Saturday before race day to prep supplies and equipment.

Tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Picking up and preparing race day trucks
- Retrieving, cleaning and sanitizing water tanks
- Installing signs at the race site
- Transporting supplies to the aid stations

Details

Volunteers will set up and disassemble the start line, then transport equipment to the finish line area. They will then set up, disassemble the finish line and transport all equipment for storage.

Details

Be the first to see how the race begins! Volunteers will prepare and distribute race bags, distribute race bibs, provide race information and answer questions. Responsibilities also include set up, take down and clean up of the distribution area. This position requires some light lifting (up to 30 lbs.).

W's Timing Split High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Volunteer will pickup the timing equipment (approx 20lb backpack) from the start line and then hike to the split location, 1.9 miles into the race course.

After setting it up, the volunteer will monitor the equipment to make sure it works during the event.

After the last runner passes, they will pack it all up and then head to the finish line and then the after party.
