Details

As a courtesy, gear check service is offered to all registered athletes. Volunteers will collect gear bags at the race start ensuring all bags are correctly labeled and tightly secured. They will then help transport the bags to the finish line area. In addition, volunteers will organize athletes’ gear bags and distribute them to the runners after completion of their race.

Finish Line Assistant High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

This volunteer will cheer on runners as they reach their goal at the finish line! They will welcome and assist runners, if needed, as they complete their race. Additional miscellaneous tasks may include forming a running lane with cones, relaying bib numbers to the announcer, cleaning and sweeping the course of debris, etc.

Fruit/Snack Prep and Distribution High Priority

Details

After the strenuous race, runners' look forward to much needed nourishment. Volunteers will cut and prepare fruit to distribute, along with snacks, to the runners at the completion of their race.

Post Race/Awards Ceremony

High School Aid Station Challenge Voting

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

All aid stations on the course are managed by high school cross country and track teams. At the end of the race, you will enthusiastically encourage runners to vote for their favorite aid station. Volunteers will tally the votes and relay the name of the winner to the announcer. Set up and clean up the voting area will also be included in these responsibilities.

Shirt Distribution High Priority

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

This volunteer task is full.

Details

The responsibilities of these volunteers include organizing race shirts and ensuring that every runner that finishes under the cut-off time goes home with their well deserved BTMR t-shirt! Leftover shirts will need to be boxed at the conclusion of the race.

Volunteers may also be asked to manage the swag table.

Runners' Food Distribution High Priority

Details

Runners appreciate a little celebratory food after their race. Volunteers will set up the service area, and prepare and serve runner food and drinks. The area will also need to be taken down and cleaned up after the event.

Beer Garden

Details

Many runners will be looking forward to celebrating their accomplishment with a cold beer. Beer Garden volunteers will be responsible for checking runners' wristbands as well as assisting beer distributors as needed. They will also be responsible for take down and clean up of the area.

Course Marshal High Priority

Details

Directing runners and keeping them safe along the route are key in the position. Duties include a thorough understanding of the race course and the authority to stop pedestrian traffic to clear a path for oncoming runners. You ensure all runners have passed you safely and are accounted for. Standing for long periods of time is required, so wear your comfiest footwear.

Traffic Control High Priority

Details

This very important position ensures customer service to our runners. One pair of volunteers will be responsible for directing runners to parking areas in Memorial Park and additional parking venues. They will also direct runners to the race start area. Other volunteers will be responsible for re-directing Ruxton Avenue traffic and preventing vehicles from interfering with the race and ensure runner safety.

The Whole Operations Bundle

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

At least 7 more volunteers needed.

Details

You are an integral part to the backbone of race preparation. Volunteers for the "Whole Bundle" will have the interest and time to commit to all or most of the pre-race day, race day, and post-race day tasks.
Your duties will include, but not be limited to:
- unload supplies and assisting in setup of tables, chairs, fencing
- set up and disassembly of start and finish lines
- Expo set up and disassembly
- A keen eye for cleanup during and after the event. Pack it in, pack it out. Leave no trace.

The Operations Lead will contact volunteers with schedule details and offer flexible work shifts.

Pre-Race Prep and Set-up

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

At least 1 more volunteer needed.

Details

Become involved with the backbone of race preparation and set-up. Volunteers will be needed on the Saturday before race day to prep supplies and equipment.

Tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Picking up and preparing race day trucks
- Retrieving, cleaning, and sanitizing drinking water tanks
- Installing signs at the race site
- Transporting supplies to the aid stations

Race Day Operations

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

At least 2 more volunteers needed.

Details

Volunteers will set up and disassemble the start line, then transport equipment to the finish line area. They will then set up and disassemble the finish line, as well as clean up of Soda Springs Park/pavilion. Finally, you will transport all equipment to storage.

Details

Be the first to see how the race begins! Volunteers will distribute race bibs, provide race information, and answer questions. Responsibilities also include set up, take down, and clean up of the distribution area. This position requires some light lifting (up to 30 lbs.).

Be the first ones to greet our volunteers! You will check in volunteers ensuring all waivers and agreements have been signed as well as distribute volunteer shirts.
