As an Aid Station Volunteer, you'll play a vital role in supporting runners throughout the race. Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and serving food and drinks to runners
- Offering encouragement and assistance to runners as they pass through
- Monitoring runner needs (hydration, fuel, morale, etc.
- Keeping the aid station area clean and stocked

Please dress appropriately for a variety of outdoor conditions — this is an all-weather event. Bring layers, rain gear, and anything else you might need to stay comfortable while working outside for extended periods.

Your energy, kindness, and enthusiasm help carry runners through the toughest miles — thank you for being part of their journey!

Note: If you work Saturday Night this volunteer task will earn extra credit towards a future Good Endurance Running Event.

Note: If you sign up for the final shift on Sunday (12 PM – 5 PM), we kindly ask for your help with packing up the aid station and returning supplies to us if you're able.

If you’re not able to return supplies, please just let us know once you’re fully packed up and everything is cleaned.

Your help at the end of the weekend makes a big difference — thank you!

Details

Bring/ride bike to provide course monitoring/support for nighttime runners. Requires warm/waterproof clothing, proper lighting, and carrying rack or pack to carry minimal supplies. Check in first at the volunteer check-in table in the tent. You will be provided with the runner aid supplies to carry while on duty. At the end of your shift, return them to the volunteer check-in and receive your volunteer swag.

Time frame for this slot (6 hours +/-) will vary depending on needs. Bring appropriate walking and running clothing/gear for all probable outdoor conditions. Check in first and pick up Pacer bib at the volunteer check-in table in the tent. Be prepared to be stationed at The Long Run Aid Station and assist with cheering, runner service, and support until needed as a pacer. Be prepared for walking and/or running. Once done at the end of this 6+/- hour shift, turn bib back in to volunteer check-in and receive your volunteer swag.

Lead Cyclist High Priority

Details

The Lead Cyclist is a key volunteer who rides ahead of the front runner(s) at the start of the race and throughout the course. Their main responsibilities include:

Leading the Way: Riding in front of the lead runner(s) to clearly mark the race route and prevent any wrong turns.

Course Safety: Helping ensure the path is clear by alerting other course users, volunteers, or staff that runners are approaching.

Communication: Using a radio or phone (if provided) to relay updates to race officials—such as lead runner position, pace, or any hazards.

Pacing Awareness: Maintaining a steady, appropriate speed just ahead of the front runner, without interfering or creating drafting advantages.

Early Race Support: At the start of the race, helping maintain order and directing the initial flow of runners onto the course.

This role is best suited for a confident and experienced cyclist who is familiar with the race course and comfortable riding in various conditions. The lead cyclist is a highly visible part of the event and contributes significantly to the professionalism and smooth execution of the race.
