Directing to Race Venue/Registration from Parking Lot

Details

Perfect for those who want to enthusiastically greet and direct our volunteers, vendors and participants to the race site. You will be standing or sitting near the parking lot so bring your own camp chair if you want to sit. Come prepared to have long waits between needing to direct people and dress for the weather as it is not a covered area (could be sun, rain, cold, hot!).

Event Set-Up

Details

You will help with setting up the tents, tables and banners so this task requires some lifting, reaching, bending, or standing on a ladder. Our goal is to be finished by about 10:30 a.m. so you will have plenty of time to rest, hydrate and be ready to participate in the on-site race if you desire!

Race Time Activities

Water/Snack Table (End of Course)

Details

You will be standing or sitting at the snack table and keeping the table stocked with water and snacks. This area is under the shade of a tree but come prepared for heat, wind or rain. The 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. time slot will also help with taking down this station.

Course Assistant to Steer and Cheer - School section

Details

Perfect for those who like to provide motivational and exuberant encouragement! You need to be able to walk/roll up to 1/4 mile to your station. You will be standing or sitting at your station to keep everyone on the right course, help with preventing the racers and the public in the park from colliding and, of course, cheer on the race participants. You may need to help push manual chair racers up a small hill. Come prepared for long waits between racers at times (sign up with a friend, bring a book). Bring your own camp chair and dress for the weather (could be sun, rain, cold, hot and many stations do not have any weather protection) You will stay at the station until the last racer has passed by, which will be approximately 12:30 - 1 p.m. in this section. You will not be able to participate in the on-site race if you sign up to volunteer for this task.
