Description
A huge shoutout to Jeff and Jeremy from The Ultra Running Guys. They have put on 'The Final Countdown' in NC for the past 3 years. I reached out to them and they have allowed us to "steal" their idea! Bringing this fun and challenging race to WV!!!!
You are invited to this unique race experience that has something for everyone. From new runners to experienced ultra runners, the start will be a cinch. But the longer you last, the more the Countdown will demand from you. And all we ask is that you demand the most of yourself, holding off your own "Final Countdown" as long as possible.
The course is a 1.33 mile loop located on the property of Amani Brewery. Their grass path is taken care of and mowed all year round. It is a smooth, fast trail, with a small hill or two. Every lap, all runners leave together and must complete the loop in the allotted time. If you finish the loop before the Countdown completes, you can take a break, grab a drink, check your social media, or whatever it is you want to do.
One thing though. Each lap will get slightly faster than the last. We will start with the first lap at 20 minutes (15:02/mile pace), and for each successive lap the countdown will be 20 seconds shorter, forcing you to go a little bit faster each lap. If you don't make it back before the Countdown reaches "0", your adventure is over. But we would love for you to hang out and root on the remaining competitors. The race ends when only one runner returns before the completion of "The Final Countdown."
To get the most out of yourself, you will need to plan to be conservative enough so that you can have fuel in the tank to turn the jets on in the end.

Friday September 19th:
Packet Pickup @ Amani Brewing from 4-7pm
Saturday September 20th: (Amani Brewing)
Packet Pickup from 7am - 7:45am
Race start time: 8:00am
Aid Stations
There will be one aid station at the start/finish line of the 1.33 mile loop. We will be sure to have plenty of goodies available, but if you have any special favorites, make sure to bring them along for the day. You will be able to set up your own Aid Station near the start/finish line.

Runners will receive:

Special Regulations
There is NO outside Alcohol permitted on Amani Brewing property (This is a State Law). The Brewery will open at 11am and start serving beer and other drinks. You may NOT bring and/or consume outside alcohol while on Amani property. Thank you for cooperating.
Packet Pickup
Early Packet pickup will be available from 4p-7pm on Friday September 19th at Amani Brewing. Swing by to avoid the stress of picking up your packet the morning of the race and get familiar with the park. You will also be able to claim your 10x10 area. We look forward to seeing you there!
Race day packet pick up is available the morning of from 7:00am to 7:45am. Once you have parked at Amani Brewing, make sure to come to the check in table to grab your swag.

How long can you outlast the Countdown? Check out the Lap Timing and Pace Chart to take your best guess!
For example, 10 laps would get you past the 13.1 mile Half Marathon mark (13.3 miles). In order to complete that lap, you will have to maintain at least a 12:47 pace to finish the 1.33 mile loop in the allotted 17 minutes. It will be 11:05 am and 3 hours and 5 mins will have elapsed since the Countdown first began.

DISTINGUISHED PARTICIPANT 2025
New for the 2025 running season! Runners who participate in 4 out of the 6 2Lowe Run Co events will earn Distinguished Participant status and earn a special award! Participants may take on at least ONE race from each of the events
Tiki Trot events (5k, beer mile or Tiki-tizer mile)
The More Miles Last One Standing Challenge (either 1 mile or 4.167 mile backyard)
