The 11th Annual Walk/Run for Abilis, is a family-friendly activity and is our largest community event. The funds raised at the Walk/Run help Abilis provide state of the art therapeutic and life services each year to over 700 people of all ages and their families, with a wide range of intellectual, developmental, social, emotional and physical challenges.
The 1-mile walk along the scenic Greenwich Point Park peninsula is designed for individuals of all ages and abilities. There will be music, children’s crafts, face-painting, a bouncy tent, food vendors, and a firetruck that your little ones can explore! This year, as part of our 65th Anniversary celebration we added an Inaugural 5k Run. The timed race is on a certified USATF.CT course that runs through the Greenwich Point Park peninsula.
Most of the walk/run is on traffic free roads and concrete paths within the Park. The route is relatively flat and accurately marked with flag posts. We have plenty of helpers to keep you on track and to encourage you on your way to the finish.
So, put on your sneakers and join us for a family fun time with music, food, and lot's of children’s activities including a bounce castle, crafts, face-painting, and real firetruck that little ones can explore!
