What are the awards for the 5K?
Awards will be given out for the overall Male and Female race winner. Additionally, the top three runners in age/gender categories will receive awards at the 5K award ceremony scheduled for 9:30am at Impala Lawn.
I’m participating in the 5K, but I’m bringing family or friends who are not registered. Can they come in?
Anyone who enters the Zoo on the day of the event must be registered. We have opened registration at 7am so that families who are participating in the walk can also be spectators of the Run. Anyone who is not registered can cheer runners on from the North Gate (main entrance to the Zoo). They will not be allowed to watch from inside the Zoo unless registered for an event. Parking for all participants and spectators is the same.
I’m participating in the Walk, but I’m bringing family or friends who are not registered. Can they come in?
Yes, but they will not be able to enter until 9:30a.m. when the Zoo opens to the public and they will need a general admission ticket from the Zoo. If they are not on our registration list, they will not be able to enter through the special event gate at Balloon Plaza or receive the event lunch.
I’m volunteering, so can I bring family and/or friends with me into the Zoo while I help out?
We appreciate your time and talents volunteering. Your family and friends can come to the Zoo, but they must be a registered participant or they will not be able to enter until 9:30a.m. when the Zoo opens to the public where they will need a general admission ticket from the Zoo. If they are not on our volunteer or participant registration list, they will not be able to enter.
What if the weather is inclement?
The event is rain or shine so please come prepared. Registration fees are non-refundable. If there is rain on May 20th, please come equipped with ponchos, galoshes and umbrellas!
Why didn’t I get a t-shirt? Or the t-shirt size I registered for?
Our t-shirt guarantee deadline was Sunday, May 6th, so event organizers could go into production with quantities and designs. Organizers do their very best to accommodate, but it’s impossible to predict after deadline registration quantities.
Why do some of my team members have a custom team shirt and I don’t?
Our t-shirt guarantee deadline was Sunday, May 6th. Due to this highly customized event shirt for our teams, event organizers had to go into production immediately and only those who registered by the deadline will receive a custom team shirt.
Why didn’t I get the team color I registered for?
Due to this highly customized event shirt order with a wide range of sizes, event organizers did their best to meet team color requests. Infant, toddler and youth shirt colors are limited and that most likely affected the ability for a team to get the exact color they requested.
Can I bring in outside food or drink into the Zoo?
