Direct Parking

Direct arriving sponsors, vendors, volunteers and runners to the appropriate parking areas at FCC, and will ensure that volunteers, vendors, sponsors who park to temporarily drop off food or other equipment will promptly move their vehicle to other designated parking areas.

Meet up with FCC Course Marshal Lead at the FCC Student Center and proceed to assigned locations. Direct runners along the course as instructed.

Clover Hill Course Marshals

Meet the Clover Hill course marshal lead at the intersection of Autumn Leaf and Claiborne (the intersection closest to Opossumtown Pike) and proceed to the assigned location. Guide (and cheer!) runners along the course as instructed. (Park along Sundown Lane or Sundown Ct).

Lead front-runners along race course for both the Little Women 1k Fun Run at 7:30am and the 5k race at 8:00am.

Back-of-the-Pack Ambassador

Help to ensure that the back of the pack has a great experience and the slower walkers are treated just as well as the front-runners.

Keep track of the back of the back participants. Alert the water stop volunteers and finish line crew when the last participant comes through.

Clover Hill Volunteer Coordinator and Course Operations Lead

Setup Water Stop supplies.
Meet up with volunteer course marshals and other Clover Hill volunteers at the intersection of Autumn Leaf and Claiborne. Check them in and provide them with volunteer shirts and instructions. Direct course marshals into position. Then - keep an eye on the Clover Hill section of the race, watching for runners in distress, traffic issues, etc.

Finish Line Medals/Water/Food/Ice Water Towels

Set up the finish line medals, water, food, etc. and then distribute to runners as they finish.

Bring 20 16-lb (or equivalent) bags of ice

Details

Purchase 20 16-lb bags of ice (or equivalent quantity) and bring to start/finish line by 7am to cool down the finish-line water bottles and cooling towels.

Expense will be reimbursed by the Steeplechasers.

Capture the spirit of race day by focusing on volunteers, sponsors, sponsor signage, runners (off-course), awards, awardees and other fun and memorable aspects of the race. Also try to get photos of the start. (Another volunteer will be taking photos of each runner out on the course, so that aspect is already covered).
