I’ve been volunteering weekly for the West Michigan Humane Society since January 2023. I volunteer my time with walking the shelter dogs.
Volunteering at the shelter has helped change my life for the better, both mentally and physically. I have met numerous animals over the last few years, but one of my favorites was a German Shepherd named Luna (the gorgeous girl in the picture). My heart broke when hearing of her passing this year. I want to challenge myself by running the 25 k in honor of Luna & of course, all of the other shelter animals that have impacted my life in a positive way. The unconditional love & support these animals have shown me while volunteering, inspires me daily. I want to reciprocate the favor by helping to raise funds for these animals.
