** This is a cause that is near and dear to our family as our son, Archie, was diagnosed with Wilm's Tumor, a type of kidney cancer when he was just 7 months old. He endured an 11-hour surgery to remove his kidney and the tumor (which had taken up nearly half of his abdomen by the time they operated), a two-week hospital stay, 8 radiation treatments and 15 chemo treatments. Today, Arch is a healthy, happy third grader who loves pizza, football and riding his bike! **
Each year, over 60 children will be newly diagnosed with cancer and hundreds treated at Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital. The impact of such a diagnosis is far reaching, affecting not only that child but also his or her family and their community.
