Centro Sanar’s mission is to accompany community members by providing accessible mental health services.
Our Story
Founded in March of 2020, with community voice and a collective group of social workers who wanted to see transformative, affirming, and accessible mental health care and healing on the Southwest Side of Chicago, Centro Sanar offers free, bilingual and bicultural mental health services to the communities of Brighton Park, South Lawndale, Back of the Yards and Gage Park, supporting the community in complex resiliency.
Our Approach
Our goal is to address the impact of trauma and violence and to work in partnership with communities to be active agents of structural transformation. Individual, family, and group therapy services are provided by a trained mental health professional at all locations. We provide strengths-based, trauma-informed therapy services that allow program participants to confront and process difficult emotional experiences in the context of a safe, healing space with a trusted provider. Our model of service delivery is also grounded in the understanding that culturally affirming, long-term services are necessary to establish the safe, trusting relationships that facilitate healing.
Join Team Centro Sanar and help us reach our goal of raising $2,000 by committing to an individual fundraising goal of $100!
