Team Nene is running in memory of Anita (Nene) Baker, a loving mother, and cousin of Focus Fairies Executive Director Darryca Brim, who tragically lost her life to gun violence last year. She left behind her daughter, who now carries her legacy forward. At Focus Fairies Mentoring, we believe that no child should have to face the world alone after losing a parent to violence. We provide mentorship, advocacy, and critical resources to girls like Nini’s daughter—helping them navigate grief, build resilience, and create pathways to success.
