The Down Syndrome Association of Greater Winston-Salem strives to ensure that individuals with Down syndrome in the Piedmont area are valued, included, and given the opportunities to pursue fulfilling lives.  We accomplish these goals by providing information, networking opportunities, and advocacy for individuals with Down syndrome and their families, educators, health care professionals, and the community at large.

We have a few major events every year including our Deacon Dash for Down Syndrome, Wake Forest Victory Day, DSA Gala, and the Greater Winston-Salem Buddy Walk. Our 2021 Buddy Walk is September 25 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at West Forsyth High School. Our Buddy Walk celebrates individuals with Down syndrome and promotes acceptance and inclusion for all. Thank you to Bill Gibbs and the Twin City Track Club for partnering with The Down Syndrome Association of Greater Winston-Salem in honor of Bill's sister, Gwen!
