Welcome to our Personal Fundraising page for the Tricia Davis 5K for Sinai House.
Proceeds and donations from this event will directly benefit funding Sinai House in its mission to enable families to move from homelessness to independence by providing safe and affordable housing, comprehensive social services and financial support. This event is Sinai House's annual major fundraiser and is a wonderful community event. There are four fully-furnished apartments in Sinai House. Programs and professional services are tailored to help each member of the family reach individual goals in finance, education and employment. We continue to provide post-residency support to ensure a successful transition out of the program.
This past fall, Sinai House welcomed two new families through our partnership with Generation Hope, an organization that focuses on economic mobility by providing scholarships to teen parents who are pursuing college degrees. Determined to break free from cycles of homelessness and poverty, our two Generation Hope scholars are enrolled at Trinity Washington University, working toward degrees in nursing and business administration. Additionally, we provided emergency placement for a young mother of three, who is also studying Public Health at Trinity. A fourth family will join Sinai House in late spring. We are currently providing case management, social services, financial support and a strong foundation for educational success to a total of 12 households—including the 3 current resident families and 9 post-residency families—to assist them on their journeys towards self-sufficiency.
Debbie has served on the board of Sinai House for over ten years and has seen first-hand how the program has benefitted the families and especially the children.
