My name is Marie. I am a wife, mother, litigation paralegal, and breast cancer survivor. In March 2021, I was diagnosed with Stage 2B Invasive Lobular Carcinoma. What followed was a difficult journey that included neoadjuvant and adjuvant treatments, a double mastectomy, and breast reconstruction.
With the support of my family, especially my husband who became my caregiver and biggest cheerleader, I faced this fight with courage. I also received compassionate care from the doctors and nurses at Clearview Cancer Institute, who treated me with empathy, professionalism, and genuine kindness.
Today, I am in remission, and I am surviving and thriving. The experience changed my outlook on life. I'm a different person since being diagnosed with cancer. I love more, and I have a greater appreciation for life and family. My mindset is constantly in a state of survival. My passion now is to provide hope, encouragement, and to build friendships with those who have been or are currently on a similar journey."
