Twelve years ago, I heard the words no one ever wants to hear: You have breast cancer. It shook my world, but it didn’t defeat me. With faith, determination, and the unwavering love and support of my family, friends, and medical team, I made it through one of the toughest battles of my life.
This journey changed me. It deepened my faith and strengthened my purpose. I didn’t walk this path alone—and I’ll never forget the hands that held me up when I was weak, or the prayers that covered me when I was scared.
Today, I run not just as a survivor, but as a sister in the fight. I now find myself on the other side of this journey, holding space, offering hope, and walking alongside dear friends who are just beginning theirs. It’s painful to see people I love facing this disease—but it’s also an honor to be able to offer the same kind of love and support that carried me through.
The Liz Hurley Ribbon Run is more than just a race. It’s a celebration of life, a remembrance of those we’ve lost, and a powerful act of solidarity for all who are still fighting. I run because I can. I run because I must. I run for them.
