Funny Name Serious Cause


Due to the rapidly developing Coronavirus (COVID-19), and to ensure safety for our community, the Jefferson County Health Department recommended the canceling of gatherings of 25+ people. 
Due to safety concerns, we have taken the added measure to deliver Team T-shirts to the Team Captains to distribute to Team members. There is no longer a planned opportunity to pick up race t-shirts.  

What about my race t-shirt?
Teams:  (PLEASE READ For latest updates & changes)

  • Due to these unforeseen circumstances, we are implementing a team box requirement. The team box will include a race t-shirt for each team member and a size list. 
  • All Team boxes will now be delivered to the Team Captains' work or residence.
  • Delivery - Email to request your team t-shirts be delivered. Please provide your name, team name and desired delivery address. Deliveries will be made by March 27th.
  • The Team Captains to distribute T-shirts to Team members.

We will mail race t-shirts to all participants who registered as an individual. Shirts will be postmarked no later than March 25th.

Team Awards (Toilet Trophies)
We are pleased to announce that we will continue our toilet trophy tradition this year! Participation deadlines are listed below; more details will be provided soon.

  • Most Participants – Saturday, March 28th @ Noon
  • Most Funds Raised Overall – Saturday, March 28th @ Noon
  • Most Funds Raised per Team Member – Saturday, March 28th @ Noon
  • Most Team Spirit – Sunday, March 29th (judging will be based on photos taken by your team during the VIRTUAL RUMPSHAKER RACE WEEKEND and sent to us via email ( or by tagging us on Facebook or Instagram (links above))
  • Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer our Fastest Team awards this year.

Registration and Fundraising is still open

Registration and fundraising will remain open through noon on March 28th with NO PRICE INCREASE! Everyone who registers by March 28th will receive a race-t-shirt.

Because we are providing the opportunity for each person to participate in the Virtual Run on March 28th and provide them their race t-shirt, we are not offering refunds or deferrals. Our goal is to provide the proceeds to Colon Cancer research.

Race Day Parking:
Parking is available on the street and at lots around Regions Field, see the following parking suggestions for details. There is a short walk to the start line. We strongly encourage carpooling whenever possible.  1st Ave. S. between 14th St. S. and 18th St. South will be closed for the event.

NOTE: If you would like to be eligible for Awards, the purchase of a Timing Chip is required ($3.50/participant).

How to wear your Bib-Tag Timing Chip:
5K participants that paid the $3.50 extra for a timing chip will be provided timed race results. [Click Here] to see details on how to wear your Bib-Tag Timing Chip. Please wear your bib number on the FRONT of your shirt during the race. Remember to bring your bib number race day. No bib number means no recorded time. The timing chip is located on the backside of your bib number.

Strollers at the Race: If you are participating with a stroller and/or children, we ask that you keep your children with you at all times, and that you start from the back of the "RUN 30 minute or greater" or "WALK ONLY" corrals This will allow your family members, and our other participants, a safer race experience.

Bib Number Transfer and Cancellation Policy:
There are NO refunds of registration fees. Bib number transfers of registration must be completed by March 18, 2020. **If you need to make changes to your registration or transfer to another participant [Click Here] for instructions on how to change your registration. This event will occur rain or shine, warm or cold. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances. In that event, there will be no refunds, rather, your entry fee will be used as a donation to Rumpshaker, Inc. 

Bandit Policy:
Bandits are unregistered runners or walkers attempting to participate in the run or walk events. Running with No registration is not permitted in the 5K, or 1 Mile Fun Run. Please be sure to register for the Rumpshaker 5K or 1 Mile Fun Run so that you can enjoy all that the race has to offer. Everyone in the 5K, 1 Mile Fun Run will need to wear their Bib Number that shows you are a registered participant. All proceeds of the event go to Rumpshaker Inc.

Benefiting Colorectal Cancer Awareness
Thank you for being part of the Rumpshaker Event! Funds raised by Rumpshaker, Inc. go to educate individuals and raise awareness about colorectal cancer by means of the Rumpshaker 5K, a traveling 30 foot inflatable colon display, and other events. Funds will also go to fight colorectal cancer in Birmingham by providing financial assistance to local hospitals.  Additionally, funds will go to provide hope for colorectal cancer patients in Alabama through support of the Lisa Martz Hope Fund.
