Sign up!The Lafayette Chamber and the City of Lafayette are co-sponsors of the Lafayette Res Run for Education which is traditionally held the third Sunday in October. The 2023 Lafayette Res Run for Education will be held Sunday, October 22, 2023 with the Reservoir Challenge held October 12-21, 2023.
The Run is the city’s most popular “family affair”, involving kids, parents, grandparents, and hundreds of serious runners from throughout the Bay Area. Sprinters, walkers, the “stroller brigade” and many of Lafayette’s top four legged residents are welcome to join in the fun.
Back by popular demand, from its introduction in 2020, you can now register for the Reservoir Challenge – the virtual race which “runs” around the 2.7-mile paved trail of the Lafayette Reservoir October 12-21, 2023. Please note, the Reservoir Challenge is not an option on Sunday, October 22 as the Reservoir will be closed for all but the 10K runners. The Reservoir Challenge is great opportunity to safely walk or run the Reservoir on your own, perhaps beating your time from last year.
**Parking and fees are not included in registration price.
View Reservoir Challenge MapOn race day, s-p-a-c-e o-u-t, do not crowd together at the starting line. Racers can line up the entire block from Oak Hill Road to Moraga Road. Remember, only the 10k and 5k are timed races, and timing starts only after you cross the starting line.
