Packet Pickup
Race packets that include our traditional long sleeve t-shirt (while supplies last) and race bib will be available for pickup at the Lafayette Chamber Office, 251 Lafayette Circle, Lafayette, CA [map it] on the following dates/times:
• Monday, October 16, 2-6pm
• Tuesday, October 17, 9am-noon and 3-5pm
• Wednesday, October 18, 2-6pm
• Thursday, October 19, 9am-11:30am and 3-5pm
• Friday, October 20, 10am-6pm
• Saturday, October 21, 8am-11am
What is the Reservoir Challenge? Back by popular demand, from its introduction in 2020, you can now register for the Reservoir Challenge – the virtual race which “runs” around the 2.7-mile paved trail of the Lafayette Reservoir October 12-21. Please note, the Reservoir Challenge is not an option on Sunday, October 22 as the Reservoir will be closed for the 10K runners. The Reservoir Challenge is great opportunity to safely walk or run the Reservoir on your own, perhaps beating your time from last year!
How do I entice my school children to run with me? Zoonie's! The first 100 students to register from each school will receive a gift certificate during packet pickup for a free 1/4 lb of bulk candy. Yes, even the three high schools!!
Where do I park? Free parking is available at the Lafayette BART Station on weekends. All other parking fees will be in effect.
Do I have to wear my shirt? Only if you want to. We suggest wearing it wherever and whenever you can. The race and our sponsors get a little extra love that way.
Do I need to wear my bib? Yes, you do need to wear your bib to participate in the race on Sunday, October 22, 2023. The 5k and 10k bibs will be chipped, so your time depends on it!
Are the Mile Markers marked? Yes, all races are color coded. The 2 mile is green. 5k is blue, 10k is orange and the Reservoir Challenge is black and white.
Will there be water stations? Water stations will be available. We suggest bringing your own water bottle to refill and reduce trash.
Will I get a medal? We will be giving Gold, Silver and Bronze medals for the 5k and 10k this year for the top three male and female per age group with the best times. If you identify as a different gender, and your time is the best, the medal is yours!
What if I want to change my distance? If you want to change the distance you originally registered for, email us at info@lafayettechamber.org.
When is t-shirt/race pickup? T-shirts and bibs typically the week leading up to the race. Please check your email for dates and times. The dates are also listed above.
When (and what) is the Early Bird Competition? The race before the race runs through Sept 30th. The school that has the most registrations at midnight on Sept 30th will win bragging rights and an additional $500 bonus contest check.
How do the schools benefit from this fundraiser? For 30 years the Chamber has been organizing this event to raise money for our local schools and the Chamber. Last year we were able to share over $28K with our schools. The money goes directly to the individual schools’ PTA.
Can you sponsor a teacher or staff member? YES! Click here. Support our great teachers by sponsoring their registration! By purchasing a registration sponsorship, a teacher will get to participate in this year's Lafayette Res Run at no charge to them. If you'd like to sponsor a specific teacher, please indicate the specific teacher/school you'd like to sponsor. Alternatively, you can indicate your favorite school and we'll offer your sponsored registration to the staff of that school.
