RANGER WILSON SOUND OFF 5K ORIGIN STORY
Odell "Ranger" Wilson carried the flag in races all over San Diego and throughout the country to commemorate the fallen and to the goal of ending veteran homelessness. After he died of Covid on December 18, 2020, we now carry his legacy forward when we carry the POW/MIA flag for the cause of ending veteran homelessness.

Friday, May 20, 2005 | Towering at just a hair over 5 feet 9 inches and tipping the scales at 260 pounds, “Ranger” Wilson, formally known as Odell Wilson, is considered a Clydesdale in running circles. This former U.S. Army Ranger calls cadence while running in order to take his mind off the pounding of each step. It’s a running technique he learned in jump school in Fort Benning, Georgia.
WHY I RUNRESTORING HOPE
While the image of the hero is memorialized many veterans were denied the honor and distinction they deserved after addiction, brain injury, emotional and physical injury stole their future. We are working to make a difference for veterans of color, women veterans, and the invisibly wounded. RWSO invites you to Finish In Their Name. Pisano Artistry tells their story through art. Fit Black and Educated is community through fitness.
