Marty Hartman's Race2Independence Roll Run Walk 5K (Draft)

When you donate to the Race2Independence you are providing a person with a disability an opportunity to live as independently as they choose.  By donating, you provide an adult or child the opportunity to experience a sport that once seemed impossible or inconceivable.  And, we'll be sharing a portion of the proceeds with a charity that was near and dear to Marty - Free Wheelchair Mission.

At Solutions For Independence, we believe every person with a disability deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential and that includes living a healthy life through access to recreation and sports.  With programs such as the 5K and adaptive sports, youth and adults with disabilities are able to build friendships, community and self-confidence while learning how to live a healthy and independent life. The costs for much of the adaptive sports equipment can be expensive and many participants cannot always afford to purchase it.  

Did you know???

• A handcycle costs, on average, more than $5,000

• A basketball wheelchair costs between $3,000 - $5,000

• A beginner's tennis wheelchair can cost between $3,000 - $4,500

This is where we need you!   A portion of the funds from Race2Independence will help provide the means to continue our goal of improved access to healthy living choices including adaptive sports and the equipment to participate.
