Charity Partners
We’re excited to announce the charity partners for this year’s Elm Street Athletic Festival:
Brain Tumor Network
To provide free, individualized navigation to help patients and loved ones manage a primary brain tumor diagnosis, overcome treatment obstacles, and facilitate access to quality healthcare. Brain Tumor Network is a trusted source for reliable information about primary brain tumors for patients of all ages. Their dedicated, neuro-oncology navigators help you find answers to the difficult questions you may be asking yourself. Their brain tumor patient navigators are professionals guiding patients and caregivers through every phase of brain tumor care with personalized one-on-one options, information, and support. Their resources have helped 2800+ patients receive free, personalized navigation services. 500 + relationships built with national brain tumor centers of excellence and regional treatment centers across the country. Their staff has 30 + years of treatment-related and survivorship experiences of founders Susan and Rick Sontag. They now have 10 + years of providing direct, personalized support to primary brain tumor patients and caregivers as well as building relationships within the neuro-oncology community.
The Aware Foundation, established by Jason and Tracy Binder following Tracy’s brain cancer diagnosis, focuses on strengthening relational health, resilience, and emotional intimacy for individuals and couples facing illness, grief, and life transitions. Through coaching and tools like emotional journaling, they provide personalized support to help clients navigate hardships and build deeper connections. Recognizing the financial burdens that often accompany serious illnesses, the foundation offers scholarships to cancer patients and caregivers experiencing financial stress, ensuring that vital coaching resources remain accessible. By combining evidence-based strategies with compassionate guidance, they empower individuals to build stronger, more resilient relationships while managing the profound challenges of brain cancer and other life-altering conditions.
100% of fundraising dollars will go to the Brain Tumor Network. And a portion of the event proceeds will go toward Brain Tumor Network and The Aware Foundation Services. By participating in the festival, whether you’re running the 10 miles, tackling the 5K, or joining the Survivors Walk, you’re contributing to causes that truly make a difference. Your involvement ensures that the Brain Tumor Network can continue offering vital support to those navigating difficult diagnoses and that Aware Coaching through the Aware Foundationcan reach more individuals with life-changing programs.
But that’s not all—this year, we’re raising the bar with a fundraising initiative that gives you the chance to amplify your impact! You can create a personal or team fundraising page to support the Brain Tumor Network directly. Together, we can achieve more than ever before. Every dollar raised brings us closer to making a profound difference in the lives of those who need it most.
Let’s make every mile meaningful. Thank you for joining us in supporting these incredible organizations.
