The Every Step Counts Autism Walk & 5K Run takes place at Centennial Park in Ellicott City, MD. The 5K run course (in blue) features a paved foot trail that meanders around the lake, with a few rolling hills, straight-aways, and one or two steep climbs. The 4K walk course (in yellow) shares much of the race route. Along the route, participants will have the opportunity to take in the scenery as well as spot wildlife and water birds. Please Note: Race route guides will NOT be stationed at intersections along the event route. There will NOT be a water stop. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Centennial Park is a popular park in Howard County with other park visitors picnicking, participating in sports activities, fishing and boating. Indoor restroom facilities and drinking fountains are located near the event start/finish and about 3.5K into the clockwise event route. Other park amenities include a snack bar, pedal boat and kayak rentals, and a boat launch.
