The Every Step Counts Autism Walk & 5K Run has traditionally featured a timed 5K run and a 4K walk around Centennial Lake in Ellicott City, MD. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Walk & 5K Run will be a hybrid event, with the option to participate at Centennial Park on Oct. 3 OR to participate virtually at any location and at any time. Here is a guide to the VIRTUAL Walk & 5K Run event. We appreciate your flexibility as we finalize these plans. And we greatly appreciate your willingness to walk or run with us in support of individuals and their families who are navigating the autism journey. #EveryStepCounts #AutismStrongMD
Participants in the VIRTUAL Walk & 5K Run are invited to:
Thank you for supporting the autism community!
Contact the event coordinators at 410-290-3466 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
PLEASE NOTE: These event protocols are subject to change as CDC, state, and local guidelines are released. To ensure the health and safety of all participants, HCAS reserves the right to convert, at any time, the Every Step Counts Autism Walk & 5k Run into an all-virtual event.
Join us for a virtual tour of the event route around Centennial Lake. During this 35-minute tour, you'll meet and hear from HCAS Executive Director Melissa Rosenberg, ASBC President Debbie Page, Maryland Lieutenant Governor Boyd Rutherford, Howard County Executive Dr. Calvin Ball, and Zoe Goldszmidt, an HCAS member and autism advocate who sings the national anthem to kick off the event. And in recognition of their generous support of the autism community, the Every Step Counts sponsors get a shout-out along every step of the event route.
