WVS Cherry Blossom 5 Mile Run/Tim Thomas Memorial

Let's celebrate spring in NEPA!  Come join us for the Wyoming Valley Striders 48th Annual Cherry Blossom 5 Mile Run / 19th Annual Tim Thomas Memorial!

This event will be held at Kirby Park when the stunning cherry trees are in full bloom. (Tim Thomas was a local standout runner and ran for Bloomsburg University. He died at age 31.)

Registration

• Pre-entry fee: WVS members $20, non-members $25
  • WVS members were emailed the discount code on 1/22/23 & 3/30/23.
    (Our race discount codes are for current members of the WVS and should not be shared.) 
  • Non-members can purchase for $12 a membership in the store and we will send you within 36 hours the race discount code to use during registration.
• Runners must pre-register online. Race day entries will not be accepted.
• Pre-registration will be capped at the first 225 entries. (subject to change) 
• Online registration will close Friday, May 5, 2023 at noon or earlier if race cap is reached.
• Entry fee is not refundable or transferable.

Race Day

• Pre-entry packet pick-up will begin at 8:30 am at the pavilion inside Kirby Park.
• All entrants will receive a commemorative swag item. 

Start

• Race start is at 10:00 am.
• This race will be chip timed.

Course

• The start and finish of the run will be in the meadow area in Kirby Park then fast and flat, out and back over a macadam pavement on the dike.

Note

• If the race is cancelled due to any directives by the PA Governor, the hosted location, or the WVS, 2023 pre-entries will be deferred to next year. No refunds will be given. 

• This race is open to anyone. You do not need to be a WVS member to run. You can however become a member or renew your membership during the checkout process. Online memberships are $12 per year. Membership cards are sent within a week of receipt or given race day if received 14 days prior to event or not yet expired.

• The race directors reserve the right to accept or reject any entry.
