WVS Cherry Blossom 5 Mile Run/Tim Thomas Memorial

Let's celebrate spring in NEPA!  Come join us for the Wyoming Valley Striders 49th Annual Cherry Blossom 5 Mile Run / 20th Annual Tim Thomas Memorial!

This event will be held at Kirby Park when the stunning cherry trees are in full bloom.

Tim Thomas was a local standout runner and ran for Bloomsburg University. He died at age 31. Read our blog to learn more about Tim and why our Cherry Blossom Run was renamed in his honor.

Registration

• Pre-entry fee: WVS members $20, non-members $25
  Price increases 4/19/24: WVS members $25, non-members $30
   
  • WVS members were emailed the discount code on 1/22/24 and 3/30/24.
    (Our race discount codes are for current members of the WVS and should not be shared.)  
  • Non-members can purchase for $12 a membership in the store and then receive an email reply with the race discount code to use during race registration.
    
    
• Runners must pre-register online. Race day entries will not be accepted.
  
  
• Online registration will close Friday, May 3, 2024 at noon. 
  
  
• Entry fee is not refundable or transferable.

Race Day

• Pre-entry packet pick-up will begin at 8:30 am at the pavilion inside Kirby Park.
• All entrants will receive a commemorative swag item. This year it's a Wyoming Valley Striders / Tim Thomas Memorial zipper insulated grocery tote!

Start

• Race start is at 10:00 am.
• This race will be chip timed.

Course

• The start and finish of the run will be in the meadow area in Kirby Park then fast and flat, out and back over a macadam pavement on the dike.

Note

• If the race is cancelled due to any directives by the PA Governor, the hosted facility, or the WVS, 2024 pre-entries will be deferred to next year. No refunds will be given. 

• This race is open to anyone. You do not need to be a WVS member to run. You can however become a member or renew your membership during the checkout process. Online memberships are $12 per year. Membership cards are sent within a week of receipt or given race day if received 14 days prior to event or not yet expired.
  
  
• Non-members can purchase for $12 a membership in the store and then receive an email reply with the race discount code to use during race registration.
  
  
• The race directors reserve the right to accept or reject any entry.
