Commit to taking care of yourself in 2019 and sign up for the Spring Into Health 5K/1M run, walk or roll event! Morning stretch is at 9am and the race begins at 9:30am on Saturday, March 23. The start/finish line is on the backside of Dosher Memorial Hospital and takes you through historic downtown Southport and along the picturesque water way. Health providers and professionals will also be available before and after the race with education materials and giveaways. And let's not forget about those scrumptious and healthy snacks provided by Tropical Smoothie & the Cooperative Extension - yuuum. Enjoy your your post-workout smoothie and trail mix while cheering on the rest of the racers crossing the finish line and celebrating during the award ceremony.

Early Bird registration fee is $10 through February 24. February 25 - Race day, the registration fee is $20. Children 13 and under get in free.

You are NOT guaranteed the race swag by registering for the race.


At packet pick-up or on race day, bring an item from the list below in exchange for your race swag. Items will be donated to Brunswick Senior Resources, Inc. For those who forget to bring their healthy item, swag will be available for sale on race day at $15.



Bring a healthy item from this list to swap in for your race swag!

  • Dry or canned beans with less than 250mg of sodium per serving
  • 100% whole grain i.e. steel cut oats, barley and wild rice
  • Bread & Pasta with “whole grain” or “whole wheat” listed as the first ingredient and also includes at least 2.5g fiber and less than 250mg of sodium
  • Pasta sauce (no added sugar, low calorie, or low sodium)
  • Canned meat (turkey, tuna, chicken, etc) with the pop top and has less than 480mg of sodium per serving
  • Natural Peanut Butter or Almond Butter
  • Canned fruits packed in 100% juice or water with pop top or dried fruits
  • Shelf stable cheese
  • Protein bars with less than 15g of sugar per serving
