- Respect for All:
- Treat fellow campers, coaches, counselors, and volunteers with kindness, courtesy, and respect.
- Embrace diversity and inclusivity, ensuring everyone feels welcome and valued regardless of ability, background, or experience.
- No bullying, name-calling, or disrespectful behavior will be tolerated.
- Positive Attitude:
- Maintain a positive and encouraging attitude, both towards yourself and others.
- Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Celebrate individual and collective achievements.
- Teamwork & Support:
- Support and encourage your fellow campers.
- Participate actively in group activities and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Offer assistance to those who may need it.
- Safety First:
- Follow all instructions from coaches and staff regarding safety procedures.
- Report any injuries or concerns to a coach or staff member immediately.
- Stay hydrated and listen to your body.
- Obey all street safety rules when out on runs.
- No running off by yourself, stay with the group.
- Sportsmanship:
- Practice good sportsmanship in all activities, whether competitive or recreational.
- Demonstrate fairness, honesty, and integrity.
- Learn to win and lose gracefully.
Camp Specific Rules:
- Punctuality:
- Arrive on time for all scheduled activities.
- Be prepared and ready to participate.
- Equipment & Belongings:
- Bring appropriate running attire and footwear.
- Label all personal belongings.
- Respect camp property and equipment.
- Electronics:
- Electronics (phones, tablets, etc.) are to be used only during designated times, or in case of emergency.
- We want the campers to engage with each other, and the coaches.
- Hydration & Nutrition:
- Bring a water bottle and stay hydrated throughout the day.
- Follow any dietary guidelines provided by camp staff.
- Bring healthy snacks.
- Active Participation:
- Engage in all camp activities to the best of your ability.
- Ask questions and seek guidance from coaches.
- Try new things and step outside your comfort zone.
- Respect for the Environment:
- Leave no trace. Clean up after yourself.
- Respect the natural surroundings of the camp.
- Parent/Guardian Communication:
- Follow the designated check-in and check-out procedures.
- Provide accurate contact information and emergency contacts.
- Parents are to inform the camp of any medical or behavioral concerns.
Consequences:
- Minor rule infractions will result in verbal warnings.
- Repeated or serious violations may result in temporary or permanent removal from the camp.
- Parents will be notified of any serious rule violations.
Reinforcing the Rules:
- We will review the rules with campers on the first day of camp.
- Coaches and Counselors will lead by example and consistently model and reinforce positive behavior.
- We will recognize and reward positive behavior.
