Adult Volunteer Camp Coach

Summary: We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated adult volunteers to coach young runners at our summer running camp. As a volunteer coach, you will play a vital role in fostering a love of running in children while providing a fun, supportive, and safe learning environment. This is a rewarding opportunity to give back to the community, share your passion for running, and make a positive impact on young athletes.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise running activities, including warm-ups, cool-downs, drills, and runs of varying distances.
• Teach fundamental running skills and techniques, such as proper form, pacing, and breathing.
• Motivate and encourage young runners of all abilities, fostering a sense of accomplishment and teamwork.
• Provide constructive feedback and guidance to help campers improve their running skills.
• Ensure the safety of all participants by adhering to camp rules and guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and camp staff.
• Attend all required camp sessions and training.
• Potentially assist with other camp activities as needed.

Qualifications:

• Passion for running and working with children.
• Experience in running or coaching preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
• Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
• Commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment.
•Must be willing to undergo a background check.

High School Camp Counselor High Priority

High School Camp Counselor

Summary: We are looking for energetic and responsible high school students to serve as camp counselors at our summer running camp. As a counselor, you will be a role model and mentor to younger campers, assisting coaches with activities and providing support and encouragement. This is a great opportunity to gain leadership experience, develop your communication skills, and make a difference in the lives of young runners.

Responsibilities:

• Assist coaches with leading running activities, including warm-ups, cool-downs, drills, and runs.
• Demonstrate proper running techniques and form to younger campers.
• Help campers stay motivated and engaged during activities.
• Supervise campers and ensure their safety at all times.
• Assist with setting up and cleaning up activity areas.
• Serve as a positive role model and mentor for younger campers.
• Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect among campers.
• Communicate effectively with campers, coaches, and camp staff.
• Attend all required camp sessions and training.

Qualifications:

• Experience in running (e.g., cross country, track, personal running).
• Enthusiasm for working with younger children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
