Half Marathon Details & Video

The Half Marathon is a USATF Certified and Sanctioned Event. Starts at 9:00 AM. (Recommended 8:00 AM early start for walkers.) The Half Marathon course covers 13.11 miles and features views overlooking Hood Canal and Quilcene Bay. The Quilcene Oyster Half-Marathon has a total ascent of 1019 ft and has a maximum elevation of 699 ft. (Click to view on Map My Run).

This course is challenging! It would also be great conditioning if you are training for a full marathon.

The route immediately crosses the beautiful Little Quilcene river (with salmon spawning below), passes several farms, then heads uphill through the forest. A series of moderate rolling ascents and descents is separated by short flat or downhill sections with great views of the Olympic foothills. At the top of the first ascent, a rolling stretch of gravel forest road takes the runners through the woods to the "Turn" at the second summit. The summit offers spectacular views of the Olympic Mountains. Then the ridge road with panoramic views of Hood Canal and the Olympic Mountains winds back down to a nearly flat run around the Quilcene Bay tidelands to the finish line. The start/finish line is at the beautiful Linger Longer Stage at Worthington Park, next door to the Quilcene Historical Museum.
