You may have noticed something missing from your Big Gay 5K registration.

The T-shirt.

That was intentional.

Your 5K registration already comes with some pretty excellent stuff:

• Big Gay socks — because your ankles also deserve Pride.
• A collector’s bib featuring original artwork by Tucson muralist The Desert Pen.
• Your inaugural Big Gay 5K finisher medal waiting for you after those glorious 3.1 miles.

But shirts? We wanted those to be something you could make your own.

This whole event is about showing up as the individual you are — fast, slow, loud, understated, sequined, sensible, single, coupled, chaotic, coordinated, or some fabulous combination thereof. One shirt was never going to say all of that for everybody.

Enter: Salon J.

You already know J as our Big Gay Glitter Goblin and Official Agent of Chaos™. Turns out, the man contains multitudes. He also has a side hustle making custom shirts.

So if you WANT a Big Gay race-day shirt, you can make it yours.

Running with friends? Put your ridiculous team name on a shirt.

Single and ready to mingle? There’s a shirt for that.

Feeling a little more specific?

“I’m here. I’m queer. And I’m into ______.”

You fill in the blank. Within reason, heathens.

Snark? Yes.
Sass? Absolutely.
Offensive stuff? Nope.
Trademarked designs? Also nope. Mickey Mouse has lawyers and we have a 5K to produce.

Salon J has a great selection of shirt styles and colors, and J will be at the Kickoff Kiki with pre-orders ready for pickup — meaning you can arrive Saturday morning already dressed for whatever particular brand of chaos you intend to bring to the starting line.

Because we didn’t want to hand 1,000 people the exact same shirt.

We’d much rather see 1,000 people show up looking like themselves.
