When it comes to registering for Run For It, it's pretty common to see a processing fee added to your total. But not all fees are the same, and understanding the difference between registration processing fees and donation processing fees helps participants and donors know exactly where each fee applies and how it supports the broader event or fundraising experience.
Registration Processing Fees
Registration Cost (Entry Fee - $12.00) - This is the base price a participant pays to enter Run For It. The Tucker Community Foundation sets this fee.
Registration Processing Fee - This fee is charged by RunSignUp to securely process the registration transaction and distribute funds to the race payment account (e.g., funds transferred to the Tucker Community Foundation for distribution to the appropriate teams).
The RunSignUp processing fee structure includes two components: a 6% fee and a $1.00 fee. The key point is that the 6% processing fee applies per cart, meaning it is charged only once for the entire transaction, regardless of how many participants are registered. In contrast, the $1.00 fee is applied to each registration within the cart. If you register multiple people in a single transaction, you'll pay the 6% fee only once, but you will incur a $1.00 fee for each registered participant.
To potentially reduce your processing fees, consider adding more registrations to your cart before checking out. By consolidating your registrations, you might benefit from lower overall fees, making your registration experience more cost-effective.
Donation Processing Fees
Donation Processing Fees apply to donations made through the RunSignUp platform, whether or not the donor is also registering for a race.
The fee supports the secure processing and distribution of funds to the race payment account or to a designated charity/nonprofit (e.g., funds transferred to the Tucker Community Foundation for distribution to the appropriate teams).
As with registrations, the donation processing fee is charged per cart. However, the donation processing fees are a flat 4% of the donation transaction total (as opposed to 6% + $1.00 for registration fees).
