Fred had a deep love for the communities he lived in and was always passionate about giving back. Two of his favorite organizations were the Cumberland Community Forest Society and the United Riders of Cumberland (UROC). He cherished the vast trail network around Cumberland and greatly appreciated the partnerships UROC built to make these areas accessible for recreational use. Fred was also a strong supporter of the Cumberland Community Forest’s ongoing efforts to protect and expand this treasured landscape. In honour of Fred’s legacy, participants are welcome to make a direct donation to either of these community groups, continuing the spirit of care and stewardship that Fred exemplified.
