Our Mission

All Ages. All Paces. All Welcome.

Our mission is to create meaningful experiences that extend beyond the finish line—where every step contributes to something greater, every event builds connection, and every participant becomes part of a larger story of endurance, purpose, and community.

The Upstate Running Club exists to build a vibrant, inclusive running community where movement, service, and connection come together. Rooted in the trails that shaped our beginnings and expanding across roads, parks, and shared spaces throughout the Upstate of South Carolina, we create opportunities for runners, walkers, and outdoor enthusiasts of every age and pace to participate, belong, and grow.

We are committed to supporting more than just the miles. Through our club runs, our free youth program, our partnerships, and the Giving Series, we invest in the people and organizations strengthening our communities. By empowering local nonprofits, fostering volunteerism, and providing guidance to race directors and community leaders, we help turn start lines into platforms for lasting impact.

The Giving Series

The Club behind the Giving Series.

The Upstate Running Club founded and manages the Upstate Giving Series, connecting race day with local nonprofits. The Club handles donations for every nonprofit partner, and Upstate Race Series provides the races, timing and registration. We have raised more than we did all of last year, and we are on track to our goal of $1 million.
