Q: What is the date of Shannon's Run?
A: Shannon's Run takes place on Saturday, May 14, 2022.
Q: Where does the race take place?
A: The event is held at the Riverside Pavilion in Orange, TX. The address is 809 Simmons Drive, Orange, TX 77630.
Q: What time does the race start?
A: Both the 5K and 10K races start at 7:30 AM. Please arrive early for the 7:00 AM welcome and words from Shannon.
Q: Can I run with a baby jogger?
A: Yes, strollers are permitted. For safety, children must remain inside the jogger at all times while on the course.
Q: Can I run with headphones?
A: While not prohibited, they are discouraged. If you wear them, please keep the volume at a level where you can hear race officials, traffic, and safety vehicles.
Q: Is there a time limit?
A: Yes. All participants must finish by 9:30 AM (2 hours). Participants should maintain at least a 19-minute-per-mile pace.
Q: Can I walk the race?
A: Absolutely. Shannon's Run is walker-friendly as long as you can maintain the 19-minute-per-mile cutoff pace.
Q: What do I do if I injure myself on the course?
A: EMS, police, and bike marshals will be stationed along the route. Please alert any official or ham radio operator if you need assistance.
Q: Is the course closed to traffic?
A: The course uses barricades and traffic marshals. While approved by City Officials, always remain alert to your surroundings.
Q: Is there a charitable cause?
A: Yes. Proceeds benefit the National Brain Tumor Society to support brain cancer research and awareness.
Registration & Policies
Q: What is the age limit?
A: All participants must be at least 9 years old. Younger athletes may participate with prior permission.
Q: What is the refund policy?
A: All entry fees are non-refundable. If the event is canceled due to weather, all participants will be moved to the Virtual Race option. No exceptions.
Q: Can I register on race day?
A: Yes, from 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM at the Pavilion. Please note that race day registration is Cash or Venmo Only and prices will increase.
Q: Is there race day packet pickup?
A: Yes, you can pick up your packet on race morning between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM.
Results & Awards
Q: Do all participants receive a medal?
A: Yes! All finishers receive a Rock Band inspired finisher’s medal.
Q: Will there be age group awards?
A: Yes. Awards are given 3 deep in standard age groups. Please note: Awards will not be mailed. You must be present or have someone collect it for you.
Q: Where can I find results?
A: Results will be posted online. You can check them via the link on our main RunSignup page.
