I was first introduced to the Pistol Ultra in January 2016 (my 1st ultra ). I signed up for the 100k basically on a dare of a friend. Since then, I have successfully completed the 50k, 50k/50 mile double barrel, and the 100 mile distance (2022). The full Arsenal complete! The Pistol is not only one of the best ultra distance races around, it is the best organized race, and has the best support crew! The atmosphere surrounding the Pistol Ultra is unmatched and it shows by the Pistol Family of runners that attends the Pistol year-after-year! A large volume of my Facebook friends are from the Pistol, and that list of friends keeps growing each time I attend! The loop oriented course allows us to see each other several times throughout the race. Even during the wee hours of the morning when the pink unicorns appear out of the dark or a feisty little leprechaun leaps across the course in front of you, you are family. The truth is out there! I highly recommend any of the Pistol Ultra or Pistol Creek distances. No matter which distance you choose, you will not be disappointed! Come join us! We are Family!
