Race Directors

Meet Your Race Directors — We’re Honored to Be Part of the Pistol Community!

We’re excited to introduce ourselves as your race directors! Brian & Shelley Gajus and Gordon & Arden Turner are joining forces to carry on the legacy of two beloved endurance events that have long been favorites among runners across the U.S. and internationally.
About Brian & Shelley Gajus — Ultranaut Running
Brian and Shelley are the husband-and-wife team behind Ultranaut Running, a grassroots organization based in Knoxville, Tennessee. Since launching in 2014 with the simple mission of helping people get active outdoors, Ultranaut has grown in every sense.
They are the race directors of the acclaimed Yamacraw Trail Runs and the No Business 100, and are now parents to five children—Adelaide, Eliza, Gwendolyn, Ingrid, and Grant—who keep them on their toes while they juggle full-time jobs and family life.
Over the years, their events have evolved into more than just races. They’ve become powerful community experiences, bringing people together to share life-changing moments, forge lasting friendships, and make a positive impact on the land and each other.

About Gordon & Arden Turner — Bluegrass Endurance

Gordon brings nearly a decade of experience as a race timer and coordinator with Good Times Event Services, where he has supported a wide range of races—ultras, marathons, half-marathons, mud runs, triathlons, 10Ks, 5Ks, and 1-milers. He’s also served as a race director for 10 years, helping nonprofit organizations host successful signature events.
Gordon has a passion for seeing individuals reach their goals through running and walking. As he puts it:
“My passion as a race director is to create an inclusive and welcoming experience for every runner, whether it’s your very first race or your 100th, whether you’re a walker or a runner. Our mission is simple: to support you in reaching your personal goal, whatever that may be. There’s nothing more rewarding than watching someone cross the finish line for the very first time—it’s inspiring every single time. Our goal is to make each race not only meaningful, but also fun, enjoyable, and filled with a festive atmosphere that celebrates every step of your journey."

Married to Arden for 20 years, Gordon is part of a family where an active lifestyle is second nature. Together with their three children—all runners—Gordon and Arden are excited to be part of this new adventure. Their goal is to continue building friendships, growing the community, and positively impacting every participant they meet.

A Shared Purpose

Both couples are passionate, hard-working, and deeply committed to the running community. Their shared values, love for the sport, and genuine care for people are what brought this joint venture to life. It’s these same values that will help this endeavor grow, thrive, and deliver something truly special for our running family.
We are truly honored to be part of this incredible community and look forward to meeting each of you—on the course, at packet pickup, or cheering you on at the finish line.
Let’s make this journey unforgettable—together.
